education

Maria graduated from the University of Ottawa French Common Law Program in 2017. Prior to Law School, Maria completed a Bachelor of Arts Honours Program in Law at Carleton University, followed by a Master’s Degree in Conflict Studies from Saint Paul University.

During her tenure as a Law student, Maria participated in several mooting competitions, including the International Criminal Court Moot, where she, along with her team, qualified as one of two Canadian teams in the Round of the Americas held at Pace University and proceeded to qualify for the quarter finals in the Hague, Netherlands. 

Following Law School, Maria completed her articles in a small Ottawa-based firm where she worked on both criminal and family law matters, appeared in various levels of Court and assisted with trials, including a jury trial. She then worked in a mid-sized Ottawa-based Family Law focused Firm where she honed her skills in family law related matters which included high conflict parenting disputes and intricate financial issues.

Maria joined RPB Law Professional Corporation in May 2022. Her focus ranges from negotiated settlements to high conflict family law disputes that result in litigation. She also regularly participates as a Guest Judge for the Capital Cup Mooting Tournament held at Carleton University as well as the Dominion Mock Trial program. Maria is able to assist with matters in English, French and Romanian, and has experience drafting court documents in French. She is a member of the Ontario Bar Association and the County of Carleton Law Association.

Outside of the office, Maria enjoys watching crime documentaries and movies, spending time with her family and dog, cooking and baking, and enjoying the outdoors as well as travelling.
